Lasting Powers of Attorney

Lasting Powers of Attorney (LPAs) enable us to appoint attorney(s) to deal with our financial or health issues should we lose mental capacity or find ourselves otherwise in need of help with such matters. It is an important consideration, especially in these days of an aging population and families often living far and wide. Many older clients appreciate the ‘safeguard’ of getting their affairs in order and knowing that their spouse/children/family friend can assist them if they should need it further down the road. Once prepared, the documentation does not have to be used straight away. Rebecca is used to the common concern that clients have of losing their freedom when preparing such a document and is clear with clients that they need not be fearful. She is happy to address any questions that clients (or those they choose as their attorneys) have as part of the process and explains matters clearly using plain English.
